Art School Advice

Drawing The Nao of Brown has finally started in earnest…  I’m looking forward to developing a proper working rhythm, and to getting some more pages under the belt. I started off doing a few character designs but was getting too impatient, so decided to come up with some characters straight on the page, like this guy. I know it goes against all good art school advice, but I was never any good at keeping a sketch book and besides it’s more fun this way.

beautiful drawing Glyn….can’t wait to see the final book. You must be in heaven drawing your own story. btw …I often carry a sketch book and then use it for making lists of DIY tasks and stuff I have to buy and hardly ever draw anything in it.

Throw the rule book out, you don’t need it, you’re no student. These two panels are great. I can’t wait x

    Thanks guys.
I did fill up two little water-colour sketch books when I was writing, I carried one in my pocket at all times, but I think there’s about two drawings in each and they weren’t proper drawings anyway, just thumbnail type visual reminders. There was no point in them being water colour paper at all, but it felt nice to write on.
